Orange is the New Black – it’s back! Only on Netflix #streamteam

Chances are, if you’ve seen Orange Is The New Black before, then I don’t need to tell you this – but IT’S BACK! And it’s hitting our screens today!!

Fortunately, I’ve had a little bit of a headstart, as I got to watch two episodes back to back last night at London’s very own Litchfield (otherwise known as the Tardis, in Waterloo). Episodes filled, as you would expect, with funny bits, flashbacks, and one-liners that’ll have you laughing out loud.
But interspersed with that there is a kind of familiarity that means Orange Is The New Black has moved on a bit. A lot has been explained in Seasons 1 & 2, and now Season 3 has the opportunity to expand on that a bit and look deeper into life in prison (albeit with a bit of a comedic, dramatic twist!). The first episode is set on Mother’s Day, and although there is plenty of potential for the usual craziness – and quite possibly the most ingenious yet dangerous adventure golf course I’ve ever seen – this does of course also allow for a lot of emotional stuff too. Being stuck in prison, unable to see your children, well…that’s hard.
So it all starts off feeling a bit more real than the previous two Seasons – but in a very good, very watchable way.
In fact, it’s lucky that it hasn’t actually appeared on my Netflix account on the spot of midnight, or I’d be watching Episode 3 already, right about now…

On top of giving us a sneak preview in London-Litchfield, we were also treated to an assortment of character themed cocktails – Crazy Eyes Swirl, anyone? – and offered the opportunity to have our makeup expertly applied in the manner of our favourite inmate. Can you guess who I am?

And just so we could really look the part, we were sent home with an inmate hoody and some rather striking orange pants too!
Thanks for having me, Netflix. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the Season turns out!
