Is there room on the broom…for 30ish small children?
Well, there was at the Wee Man’sĀ Room on the Broom fourth birthday party! In fact, there was room on SEVERAL brooms, because:
We started off with broomstick making…Before the ‘witch’ (my Mum, thanks Mum!) began reading the story…
And then there was a quick game of musical broomsticks, where the ‘dragon’ (the Other Half, thanks to him too!) appeared and judged who was standing still enough to be rewarded with a ‘witches hat’:
And then there was pass the parcel, where we found the bow from the witch’s long ginger plait…
And then, a quick spot of frog fishing, to find the wand…
Before a bit of bog jumping and ‘mud’ lobbing at the dragon (balloons, not REAL mud!)…
Time for a some food for the hungry broomstick riding friends šWe had cheesy biscuit wands, mini pizzas, sandwitches, and savoury cheese and ham ‘bones’…
Followed by ‘truly magnificent broom jelly’ containing mushrooms, bones and pine cones; bog mud with worms, witches’ hats, character cake pops, and marshmallow and apple mushrooms…
…and then of course, the birthday cake.
A quick distribution of cauldron goody bags, and the party was at an end.
Wee Man a.k.a. the Witch had a thoroughly fantastic afternoon and is still talking about it now. It was so great that so many of his friends and family came along, pitched in, had fun and helped him have such a fun birthday party š
And thanks to Kate for the vast majority of the great photos!
