Isn’t that a pip

The Wee Man officially becomes a two year old on the 9th August. However, with the imminent arrival of bump, I decided to play it safe and carry out the celebrations a little bit earlier, just in case! (Also, since my tiredness / whaleness level is increasing with every passing week, I fear I may be well and truly ‘beached’ by the time his actual birthday arrives…). We wanted to do something extra nice for the Wee Man since he is soon about to be a big brother, and obviously I wont be able to pay him quite so much attention for a while.

Which is why, earlier today, our house was transformed into The Night Garden whilst the Wee Man had his midday nap.

1 amazed Wee Man and 17 other delighted toddlers subsequently spent a happy afternoon leaping in and out of a Night Garden Gazebo ball pit (sadly no longer produced for sale, but happily one was made available on ebay locally just as I needed it), diving into the Tombliboo bush (a pop up tent with a cover made with green fleece blankets from IKEA), and bashing at a papier mache Pinky Ponk full of raisins with long sticks. The mantelpiece became Makka Pakka’s cave, and the hallway was hung with blue voile and LED stars to simulate the journey into the Night Garden (the hedge between them being constructed of a green shower curtain shredded into wavy leaf shapes).

The Wee Man was, of course, Iggle Piggle, and was accompanied by some great big Hahoo’s…

All in all a most excellent afternoon 🙂
