Are you a Super Blogger?

My mother never let me read George’s Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl.

There was a good reason for that – I didn’t need any further inspiration for concocting dastardly mixes. Leave me alone in the bathroom, and within a few short seconds the toothpaste, baby powder, shampoos and shower gels would have been transformed into a gooey, sloppy mix that either doubled as a lovely smelling form of papiermâché, or proved perfect for lobbing at my sisters head.

I also had a bit of a penchant for removing all the towels from the airing cupboard, rolling them up and forming them into a little nest that I could dive into and snuggle up in until I was dry, after having my bath. Perhaps I was a hedgehog in a former life. In any case, I certainly generated a lot of towel washing.

Happily, I no longer spend my bathroom time mixing all the substances I can find into a big gloopy mess. But I DO still love warm, fluffy, comfortable towels – and that’s why when I saw the giraffe print Cuddledry apron towel at the Baby Show when I was expecting the Wee Man, I just had to have one. With a bit that loops around my neck to keep it securely attached, and a built in hood for your little one wrapped up cosily inside it, it was the perfect way to keep the Wee Man warm, dry and happy on the trip back into the somewhat chilly swimming pool changing rooms.

Three years later, and it’s still soft, warm and snuggly – despite repeated trips to the swimming pool by both the Wee Man and Bubby D, as well as being used for numerous baths and undergoing regular beatings by the washing machine. I loved using it so much that when the Wee Man learned to walk and was too big for the apron towel style, we got him a green and white Cuddledry toddler towel to use instead. This has the added bonus of providing hours of hilarity when either I or the Other Half wear it on our heads and chase him around the house pretending to be monsters.

And now that Bubby D is getting bigger, I couldn’t resist getting her a Cuddleroar towel – it looks like a dinosaur, but its still super soft, fluffy and cosy to keep her wrapped up in (and it has a really cute little tail at the bottom too!).Now all I need is for Cuddledry to bring out a Mummy-sized version and I can join the kids in not wanting to get my PJ’s on after the bath…
