L is for looking good (nearly) naked
I love aqua aerobics – it’s a great way to exercise in a low impact but great results kind of way. Basically you can put in as little or as much effort as you like – and for those who think it’s a bit of a ‘wimpy’ way to exercise…I challenge you to spend an hour staying afloat in the deep end of the pool without any buoyancy aids, whilst waving your arms and legs around in various complicated patterns. (That is the advanced version of aqua aerobics, it’s true, but even the ‘touching the bottom’ variety is a pretty good workout as well).
It does have one major downfall though – the required attire isn’t particularly forgiving of all my wobbly bits.
Returning to aqua aerobics recently after a period of not going for some time, I was more than acutely aware of the bouncing up and down of my bottom, legs, and chest as I enthusiastically splashed around the pool.
Obviously after a few weeks of intensive aqua aerobics, I hope that this bounciness will become less of a problem (and the Easter eggs will all have been eaten too which should help…) but in the meantime I decided the solution was the ultimate in tummy and top bits controlling swimsuits – the Speedo Sculpture premiere swimming costume.
It has a medium leg allowing only minor wobbly bottom exposure; and the tummy control, adjustable shoulder straps and built in bust support mean that it purports to give an impressively shapely finish, even if you aren’t the toned size 10 model showing it off on the website picture.
Can such a thing be possible? I decided to find out…
Great news! I don’t look like an elephant stuffed into a potato sack!
Not only do I now have no cause to blush whilst making my way to the pool – but once I’m in it, the Speedo swimming costume is stretchy enough to allow jumping around enthusiastically without any restriction on movement, yet still giving support and avoiding the unfortunate ‘boob exposure’ incidents that were an occasional occupational hazard with my previous somewhat flimsy and tired swimsuit.
Perfect for aqua aerobics, and durable enough to withstand the Wee Man regularly clinging to me like a limpet when I take him swimming too. I like it!
