M is for moo

Bubby D has reached the age where every few days, she learns a new word and gets really excited about it.

Walking around with a big beam on her face, she will happily shout her new word for hours, making sure that everyone is taking good notice of what she is saying.

And last week, the chosen word was ‘moo’.

As in, what cows say.

Walking around her Grandma’s house, she spotted a small plastic animal lying on the floor, picked it up, raised it high in the air in her tiny fist, and proudly proclaimed ‘MOO’.

‘moo’ at Grandma.

‘moo’ at Mummy.

‘moo’ at the Other Half.

‘moo’ at her Auntie Tooie.

and ‘moo’ at her big brother…

…who looked at me in confusion, and whispered ‘but Mummy, that isn’t a cow…’.

‘Shh’ we said.

And no-one had the heart to tell her it was a unicorn. She was so pleased with herself.

Besides – who knows what noise a unicorn makes, anyway?
