May the fourth be with you = #BEDM day 4

There are two camps of sci-fiers.

The Star Wars fanatics. And the Trekkies.

I’ve seen Star Wars, I know I have. But other than a vague recollection of scrolling yellowness, heavy breathing and donut ears I couldnt tell you much of what it’s about.

On the other hand, as a child (15 is technically a child, right…) my hamsters were named Wharf and Sisko. I secretly imagined that one day they might lose their legs and turn out to be tribbles and although my forehead is far less ridgy my fifteen year old self sported a hairstyle that could easily take on any Klingon who might happen to be hanging about (I’m talking original series here, not the far more coiffed DS9 variety).

So basically what I’m saying is, I’m more of a Trekkie.

However, I’m completely not averse to the odd light saber battle. Or talking like Yoda. Or having a light saber battle (I do have a replica light saber lying around somewhere, scarred from many drunken nights waving it around as a student. I even had a double light saber, of the Darth Maul variety – but that met an unfortunate end when I took on a particularly unyielding tree…) whilst talking like Yoda.

So, May the Fourth be with you. And if you happen to have a spare moment or two to daydream, consider this – in a battle between Klingons and Sith Lords, who would win?

The Klingon’s definitely win top prize for ‘craziest hairstyle’, that’s for sure.
