The Summer of Bouncing – ASDA Direct Jump King 10ft trampoline

We live very close to ASDA, and the last couple of years every summer we’ve had to walk past a big trampoline filled with colourful balls to get inside and do our shopping.

In previous years I’ve always said no to requests for getting one, as I thought that the Wee Man and Bubby D probably weren’t quite big enough to use it confidently. But this year, well I’ve finally given in. And so it looks like this will be the summer of bouncing!

I’ve always been very impressed by the prices of trampolines from ASDA and this year is no different – at £99 the Jump King 10ft trampoline with enclosure sounded like it would be a bargain. I definitely wanted to get a trampoline that had a protective net, and also one that would be suitable for kids and adults to enjoy – although there are some small starter trampolines available for less I think if there is going to be bouncing then everyone should be able to give it a go!

The trampoline was delivered in two fairly large boxes which were quite fairly heavy – trampoline lifting and construction is definitely a two person job!

Once we had the boxes open, the instructions were very easy to follow and putting the trampoline together took about an hour – I was impressed with how easily it all went together and there were no confusing bits or any swearing involved, as is often the case in my experience with such things! It feels very sturdy and well made and I am impressed with the enclosure too, which is fitted snugly so that even tiny feet won’t get caught in the springs and can also withstand a large adult bouncing into it as well.

Being a 10ft trampoline it is of course large, and the enclosure added to the trampoline height means it needs quite a lot of clearance upwards as well – although I do feel that the suggested 7metres in the instructions might be a BIT overenthusiastic…

It would be nice if it came with a ladder, as it is fairly tall and difficult for small people to climb onto unaided, but other than that I can’t really fault it – it’s better than we were expecting and most definitely worth the price.
