Review: Peppa Pig Muddy Puddles Playground Swing Set
Peppa Pig has not only taken over our television screen, but our front room too.
Bubby D got a Peppa Princess Castle for her birthday, and this week she was able to add some outside fun for Peppa – because we were sent the Peppa Pig Muddy Puddles Playground Swing Set from Beebies Baby Store for her to try.
I say Bubby D was sent it, but what actually happened is that all three kids immediately descended on it (they’ve had chicken pox, and so having a new toy was cause for massive cabin fevery excitement!) and began pulling it in various different directions. I was a bit alarmed, because it looks, on first inspection, a bit on the flimsy side – but actually it turns out it’s pretty robust. At least, the fact that it’s been stamped on, pulled around, and chewed by Little B without suffering so much as a scratch suggests it is!

The biggest issue we had with it was getting it out of the box. It’s attached to the cardboard with two screws, and could I find a tiny phillips head screwdriver to fit? No, of course I couldn’t. So I ended up scrounging around in the drill bit case and using a screwdriver bit to prise the cardboard base off it. Worth knowing if you happen to have impatient kids clamouring to be able to use it…
…and once it is out, it provides hours of fun.
I did wonder how much entertainment they’d get from it, being that it’s basically just two swings on a frame, and a tree. But they love attaching the characters (it comes with one Peppa figure), swinging them gently, not so gently and often downright violently; and making the swings fly off before clipping them back together again.
It costs £12.99, and although individually that might seem like a lot it is well made (I’m very impressed the swings have not snapped!) and has the added bonus that it can combine with other Peppa Pig sets until you have the entire Peppa Pig WORLD taking over your front room (or the playroom, if you have one).
At least that’s Bubby D’s plan. There are three other playground sets available, so she’ll have to wait and see what Father Christmas thinks about it all!
