Review: CrocsLights

Summer is here – and so is the need for some new shoes. Preferably without buckles…I remember last year and the amount of time I spent putting shoes back on after they’d been kicked off for the thousandth sandpit and paddling session.Crocs light ups

CrocsLights fit the bill nicely. Not only do they have no buckles, they also have the option to move the strap over the top for a more clog style of wearing – meaning they are incredibly easy to slip on and off.crocs on wall 3

Not that the kids even need to, if they don’t want to, because they are waterproof!

Stamping around in fountains, splashing around in streams…they can keep their shoes on and not worry about soggy socks on the way home. And if they do wear them whilst they’re sitting in the sandpit they’re easy to wash clean too.crocs on beach

Crocs are quite wide compared to ordinary shoes, and I was interested to see how the Wee Man and Bubby D would get on with walking in them – it’s one of the reasons we haven’t ever previously invested in a pair. Initially there was a bit of clumsiness and tripping, but theyadjusted quickly and were soon running around happily in them with no problems.

And they haven’t stopped! They’ve become the summer shoes of choice, both for me and for them – they’re robust, easy to get on and off and nice and breathable for the hot weather.

Plus of course, don’t forget the lights!Crocs lights

The Wee Man has Cars themed Crocs which have white ‘headlights’ at the front and red ‘tailights’ at the back. Obviously with the days being long at the moment he isn’t outside with them in the dark but he has plenty of opportunities to show them off inside, most recently at the bowling alley where they were the envy of all the other small children there. Bubby D loves her light up butterflies too, if she had needed any more incentive to wear them then seeing their wings twinkle certainly counts as a big plus.Crocs butterfly lights

They’ve been wearing them non-stop since they got them, and although we have had one strap-falling-off incident that was easily popped back on again – other than that they’ve been the saviour of the summer. Next year we’ll definitely be getting the kids Crocs again. And if you can get light up winter ones…well, I reckon we’ll be getting those too!

CrocsLights retail at £34.99 and in addition to Cars and Butterflies, they come in a very exciting shark version too!
