I’m going to Britmums Live – with thanks to my sponsor Best of Parenting
Britmums Live is one of the highlights of my social calendar.
Pretty much the only weekend of the year that I do something that is all about me. And me time is important, isn’t it?
Something that I’m sure my sponsors would agree with – you can’t be a good parent without taking a bit of time for yourself every now and then…
So big thanks to ny lovely sponsor Best of Parenting, who swiftly came rushing to my flagging-parent aid with an offer of covering my ticket and putting me up for the night in a bed with no wriggly starfish children in it.
Not only that, but I will have a whole two days to rediscover my mojo, learn some new bloggy skills and maybe even enjoy a drink or two of the grown up kind without small children clinging to my ankles.
And when I do get home, and take my copy of ‘Kids Don’t Come With A Manual’ off the Other Half (who may find it quite helpful as he solo parents them all for a couple of days) I am sure I will feel far more refreshed and able to put even more parenting strategies to good use!
Best of Parenting advocate the idea that parenting is a balancing act, with parents working together to achieve consistency – if children know what they can expect then things get a lot more harmonious for everyone!
With strategies for dealing with everyday parenting challenges without the usual yelling, screaming, bribery, or curling up in a cupboard under a giant duvet (and that’s just the grown ups) and tools to help partners with different parenting styles come up with a unified plan that works for everyone, Best of Parenting offer a valuable service for pretty much everyone with small people in their lives.
It’s not just about looking at how to deal with unwanted behaviours in the here and now, but rather putting in place plans that will provide a foundation for families to grow together and inspire happy, fulfilled and self-reliant adults in this generation and the next – all based on neuroscience, child psychology and real-life scenarios.
But in the meantime…
In the short term…
YAY FOR Best of Parenting and Britmums Live!
And yay for the parenting balance tipping the scales in my favour with a whole lot of me-time 🙂
