Yoyo-ing around – the Newborn Babyzen Yoyo 0+ review

Since we got our Babyzen Yoyo last year, it’s seen a LOT of use.

Lightweight, compact folding, and comfortable both for Bubby D and also whichever adult is pushing her around in it, the versatility of the Yoyo has meant that it’s our pushchair of choice for a large proportion of our trips out and about.

But the new Yoyo 0+ offers even more versatility – because it’s now suitable from birth.

The compact fold remains the same, but the Yoyo now offers the option of a parent facing newborn nest which allows tiny babies to have the option of riding around in a lightweight, parent friendly stroller that was previously only suitable for 6 months plus. Then, once your little one gets bigger, the 6+ seat pack and hood can be added to convert the Yoyo into the same great pushchair that we already know and love. (Both 0+ and 6+ packs are available in five different colours just like the original Yoyo).

The fully washable newborn nest has its own canopy, footmuff and head support which allows for a comfortable and snug ride for tiny babies, who can be fully reclined and strapped in safely with the five point harness. The three position canopy provides good coverage from the elements, and it still only weighs 6kg – as well as complying with cabin baggage size requirements when folded.

It’s hitting the shops right now and with Pippin due in March we are looking forward to checking it out when it arrives in our local independent retailer. The complete system including newborn nest and 6+ seat and hood unit costs £445 – not the cheapest of strollers but when you consider the functionality and the fact that the Yoyo can now be the only pushchair you need, from birth up until running around in circles like a crazy thing (which is what the Wee Man does, frequently) then it’s really a very good investment.

I didn’t think it was really possible to improve on the Yoyo all that much – but Babyzen have gone and done it!
