E is for Easy Biscuit Recipe
Everyone should have an easy biscuit recipe. It’s especially useful for cold days that don’t really inspire outdoor play, and not only is it easy but it smells good and it tastes good too.
Can’t really go wrong with that.
Anyway, this is our easy biscuit recipe:
- 100g butter
- 50g sugar
- dash of vanilla extract
- 175g flour
- splash of milk to bring the mix together
Preheat the oven to about 150 degrees, then cream together the butter and sugar, add the vanilla extract, sift in the flour and then mix it all together, adding the milk right at the end if the dough is a bit crumbly.
Following that, arm your small children with a rolling pin and some cookie cutters, and sit back for a while whilst they create some random shaped dough blobs.
Put the shapes on some lightly floured baking paper on a baking tray, stick it in the oven and wait about 15 minutes til the biscuits are just turning golden.
Let them cool down, then arm the small children again, this time with bowls of colourful icing and sprinkles and stuff – whatever edible things take your fancy.
Allow them to liberally cover the biscuits with an assortment of icing streaks and sprinkly stuff, no doubt sampling the icing and sprinkly stuff along the way.
Eat the biscuits 🙂
