Mothers Day Moments

Looking through my photographs and videos of the family the other day, I had a sudden realisation. There are plenty of the Wee Man, plenty of Bubby D, quite a few of the Other Half and several of the cat – but actually, since I’m the one normally taking the photos there are hardly any of me!mdmorning

So this mothers day, I decided that not only would I like a little bit of a lie in (which kind of happened, after Bubby D had woken me at 6.30 by smacking me around the head with my phone accompanied by a massive happy squeal) and perhaps some breakfast in bed; but also, I’d like for someone else to take the photographic reins and actually take a few photos of me and the kids as well.mouths

Mothercare provided me with the perfect excuse to do this with their #mothersdaymoments campaign, which asked mums to tweet them video clips and pictures from their favourite moments throughout Mothers Day which would then be taken by Sophie Donaldson (award winning ‘Child of our Time’ director) and turned into a crowd sourced movie, celebrating British Mums.

Turns out I’m not so great at video editing and uploading, but we did get lots of lovely photographs – I think my favourite is this one of the four female generations of the family:

And if you’d like to see what Sophie Donaldson came up with, the Mothercare #mothersdaymoments movie is now up and running, with lots of lovely moments from Mums across the land 🙂

Taking photos and videos of our day was lots of fun, and our family photo albums won’t be looking quite so mummy-deprived I feel a lot better!

Hope all you other mums out there had a great day too xxx
