Child at primary school? Let them know about opportunity to win the chance to record a new Thomas & Friends song!
Casting back my mind, one of my favourite memories of school days is the singing. I was involved in different choirs all the way through primary school, secondary school and while I was at University too. The highlight of my school singing experience has to be when we all got to go to the Royal Albert Hall though – that was pretty amazing!
Thomas & Friends ™ are celebrating their special 70th anniversary year, and to mark the occasion they’re offering the opportunity of an equally amazing experience for one primary school class – the chance to get:
- An all-expenses paid trip to a recording studio to sing and record the Thomas & Friends theme tune which will feature on a special anniversary DVD
- A half-day musical experience run by a music specialist
- £200 worth of musical instruments
- A visit from The Fat Controller

Judges are looking for the best, most creative singers in the country to enter and win the opportunity to record the new song, which will be featured as part of the upcoming Thomas and Friends film release this Autumn. I’m not sure, but that might even top my singing excitement meter above performing at the Royal Albert Hall!
Even for those classes that aren’t selected, for the big prize, there are lots of benefits for taking part (other than having some fun singing time!). All schools who register for the competition via the National Schools Partnership website will receive a free downloadable resource pack, full of fun and simple activities linked to numeracy, literacy, PE and art and design, to help engage and inspire children to make their entry stand out.
