Little Screen – A new way to enjoy cinema with kids
Back in the days when Seb was just a tiny baby, we used to go to baby cinema.
Basically, its cinema for grown ups, but with the proviso that there might be a bit of noise and disruption. Mostly, Seb would just feed and fall asleep, and I got to watch the film.
Once they’re mobile though, babies aren’t so great at the cinema, and that lasts a good few years until they get the concentration span to last all the way through a film. Preferably without the running commentary and the constant questions…
‘whats that? why is he doing that? when he said that what did he mean? But why did he do that…?’ and so on…
Little Screen – interactive cinema for kids
Pinewood Live are planning to change all that with the introduction of ‘Little Screen‘ – a new interactive cinema experience aimed at 3-6 year olds. This first-of-its-kind cinema event has been created to entertain the whole family, and be educational too.
With two showings across one weekend each month, the shows will be made up of various different much-loved episodes from childrens’ shows, including favourites like Thomas and Friends, Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom (Little B will be VERY excited about that!), Masha and the Bear, Hey Duggee, and Paw Patrol. And instead of kids being expected to sit still and watch, the whole thing has been put together with the idea that children can watch and learn together, clapping along, singing…dancing even! Audience participation is encouraged, rather than frowned upon.
If you’ve never been to the cinema with the kids, or if you’ve been and spent the whole time wondering why on earth you thought it was a good idea, then this might just be what you’re looking for to introduce the cinema in a fun and friendly way.
Little Screen launches nationwide on the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd October – and we are looking forward to trying it out for ourselves 🙂
