One week to go #BabysFirstChristmas

It’s a bit strange, the whole having an active alert baby at Christmas thing.

The Wee Man and Bubby D were only fourth months old for their respective first Christmases, and so they weren’t eating solids, or moving, or generally doing much in the way of eating wrapping paper or trying to climb trees…

…unlike Little B, who at 8.5 months is very much on the move, into everything, and crusing around in delight. She’s loving everything that is going on, was fascinted watching the three Nativity plays she’s been carted along to (Bubby D attends two preschools, so that meant two nativities for her!) and is incredibly intrigued by baubles. Most of which are now on the floor, rather than on the tree.

I did take her to see Father Christmas and she wasn’t really impressed at all, but one thing she is really loving is helping with all the baking (we made Yoyo Biscuits and Lolly Log today) and helping to ‘sort’ all the pretty sparkly chocolates in the Christmas sweeties tub.

I know that Christmas Day itself won’t really mean much to her – certainly not in the way that it will to the Wee Man and to Bubby D – but I think she is definitely interested enough to experience all the fun and excitement, even though she won’t really know what she is excited about!

It such a nice stage of babyhood, and I think it’s probably the best time to have a Baby’s First Christmas – she’s not so excited that she won’t sleep but she’ll be awake enough that we can all enjoy spending our first Christmas as a ‘complete’ family together.

And perhaps she’ll even get a tooth, if she’s lucky!
