Merry Christmoose
Ok, its not a moose. Its a reindeer. Kind of. Made of feet and hands (imprints) and glitter.
Hours of fun for all the family!
Here’s what we did:
1. Dip foot and hands of Bubby D in paint. Watch her wriggle and squirm, and attempt to get reasonable imprint of two hands and a foot in a vague reindeer face shape, without coating self and the rest of the house in paint too.
There is no photo to accompany this I’m afraid. It’s hard enough to hold a wriggling 14 week old and achieve the aforementioned task without photographing it too!
2. Scan resulting ‘reindeer head’ and reprint many, many times. (There’s no way I’ll get enough originals done without horrendous screaming from all family members and the house needing a complete redecoration by the time we’re finished, so I’m cheating a little bit).
3. Cut out scanned reindeers.
4. Find card blanks (bought at bargain price on eBay).
5. Glue them together to create a card with a reindeer outline on the front.
6. Get Other Half to dab a bit of PVA glue along the tops of each of the ‘antlers’ and allow toddler to liberally sprinkle gold glitter over this. Shake off excess glitter, then repeat many, many times. Let this dry.
7. Attempt to clean glitter, then give up and accept that glitter will invade everything for the next month or so.
8. Repeat glitter phase, except with red glitter, and glue splodges in general reindeer ‘nose’ area. Let this dry.
9. Glue on some ‘googly eyes’.
10. Add some words of festive cheer. For example ‘ho ho ho’ or ‘Merry Christmas’.
11. Sit back, relax, and decide to write the inside bits tomorrow…
