We’ve been #SplashedbyGeorge for our holiday swimming
Summer is coming. Holidays are on their way. And swimming is no longer something that the kids do once a week whilst I sit around on the balcony thingy and watch them wave their noodles around.
On holiday, the Other Half and I actually get to go in too.
Which means it’s dig out the swimming togs time…
Somewhat fortunately, since I was having trouble locating my most-likely-incredibly-muchtosmall-and-unflattering costume that was created for someone without a post baby tummy, ASDA brought to my attention the fact that they have a rather nice range of summer swim stuff available from George at very reasonable prices. Then they asked if we’d be interested in trying some of it.
Yes please!
It took rather a long time to decide what to get, because there is really quite a lot of choice in the ASDA holiday shop. I identified a tummy controlling, shape squidging blue stripy costume (called a colour flash bodysculpt, £12) that looked like a good option, and then I saw a bikini that possibly, maybe, just might be forgiving enough that I wouldn’t mind wearing it. With a high waist and a wide waistband for the bottoms (£4), and the ability to choose a top (£8) according to cup size it might be ok? And if not…well, that’s what a cover up kaftan is for (£14)!
The kids were keen on Spiderman, Minions and Frozen things and, even with the branded element involved, they are actually very reasonably priced too. Hooded towels ensured that we wouldn’t get the usual shivering shouts of dismay as we tried to get all five of us changed and clothed again after a dip in the pool – and the Other Half declared that ‘just any old togs’ would do him fine.
Choices made.
So, the case was exciting enough, but then the swimming costumes got grabbed and eagerly distributed by my little suitcase helpers.
I am actually very impressed with the colour flash bodysculpt swimsuit, which holds my tummy in nicely, and fits snugly but not too snugly in all the places it needs to.
The bikini fits really well too, and when I went in store I was able to pick up an alternative pair of bottoms for another £4 which means now I have two different looks from the same set which is a bonus.
The kids love their swimming stuff too. The sizing is pretty good and they look great. D’s Minion costume has started to a little bit bobbly, but I have a feeling that’s because she has insisted on wearing it to all her lessons as well as going on holiday, which means it has seen a lot of use! The Minions are all still looking happy, which is apparently the main thing!
And the Other Half? Well, his plain red trunks fit and so he’s happy too 🙂
