If I won the lottery
I’d love to win the lottery.
Money has always been something that I’ve had to work hard to get – and it does make me appreciate what I have far more than if I’d just been handed everything I wanted.
But there’s no denying a million in the bank would make life a whole lot easier! Tonight the EuroMillions draw will be special – they’re making 100 U.K. millionaires! So we’re buying a rare lottery ticket…and it got me thinking, what would I actually spent a million pounds on?
Boringly, I’d pay off the mortgage, and my mum’s mortgage and my sister’s too. I’d have to get that out of the way, because otherwise when the fun is over there’s still a debt lying around waiting to be paid.
But then after that, well, the fun can begin!
First things first, a big fat holiday. One that involves going to New Zealand to see the other half of the family, and then probably taking them on holiday somewhere else with us too! I’d go to Magnetic Island, relax on sandy beaches and watch for little lizards scaling the walls.
Meanwhile back in the U.K., there would be an army of cleaners getting the house in tip top spangly sparkly condition. And a double glazing person installing a back door that works. And a bathroom installer putting in one of those whirlpool baths I’ve always had my eye on.
And then, we’d come home, and perhaps have a big party with marshmallow fluff, balloons and a wizard just because we CAN.
And then life could go back to normal. Well, except with less debt and stress. And maybe more butlers. And a pet otter?
Well…I can keep dreaming, anyway!
