I’m going to Britmums Live 2014 :)
Thanks to ARDO (makers of awesome breastpumps!) I’ll be heading off to Britmums Live again this year. And Britmums have organised a linky to introduce ourselves and make the whole ‘being in a room full of people you know but not really unless they look like they do on twitter but that never really happens’ a lot less daunting… (everyone should wear a mask of their avatar. And speak in 140 character sentences! It’d make things so much easier).
(Ok, not really. Although I might dig out my Viking hat…)
Anyway.
This is me:
Name: Lauren. Or Spoonpaws. I answer to both.
Blog: Mummy Is A Gadget Geek
Twitter ID: @mummygadgetgeek
Height: About 5ft 3. Short, anyway.
Hair: Very long, and currently brown. Usually quite unruly. That’s what happens when you don’t have a chance to get your hair cut for two years.
Eyes: Blue. And covered with geeky glasses. All the better to see you with…
Is this your first blogging conference?
No. But it’s my first one with a baby along for the ride – that promises to be an interesting experience!
Are you attending both days?
Definitely – there’s so much I want to see and do!
What are you most looking forward to at BritMums Live 2014?
I’m looking forward to having what is essentially a little bit of time for me, even though Little B will be with me too. There are so many bloggers that I met last year, some that I’ve met since and others that I’m yet to meet at all that I’m really looking forward to catching up with and socialising with in person 🙂 And of course I’m sure there’ll be lots of great advice and inspiration just like last year that’ll help get me really motivated.
What are you wearing?
I haven’t thought about it at all, but I’m guessing it’ll involve jeans and a nursing top. Since that’s pretty much the only thing I wear these days… I’d love to get a nice dress, who knows, I might get round to it!
What do you hope to gain from BritMums Live 2014?
Friendship, knowledge, and biscuits. Please say there will be biscuits…?
Do you have any tips to pass on to others who may not have been before?
Don’t worry about people thinking you’re crazy. Just talk to everyone! And perhaps try and arrange evening meet ups before you arrive, that’s something I wish I’d done last year.
It’s getting excitingly close and I can’t wait to be there! If you’re going too and you’d like to meet up, leave me a comment – it’s going to be fun 🙂
