It’s the end of the world as we know it

…and back to normal blogging life!

Day 30 – the final day of NaBloPoMo. I signed up in a fit of sleep deprived madness, I’ve ended the month even more sleep deprived, but its been good fun along the way.

I started this blog a few months back to talk about gadgets and I’ve managed to get a bit of that in, but during the course of the month I’ve expanded a bit and talked about some other things too – elephants on the moon, and jam, for example. I’m glad I did, because its reminded me what I always liked about writing, since beginning my first ‘online diary’ back in 2001 – sometimes it’s just fun to let out my inner monologue and see what turns up!

There has been the odd night where I’ve been writing right up to the last minute before midnight, and others where I’ve really had to force myself to get on with it instead of slinking off to bed. Some days I’ve been frantically typing with one finger on my iPhone whilst breastfeeding Bubby D, or during any spare second throughout the day, or even once, on the toilet! (TMI? Well it is one of the only times I might get a minute to myself…and that’s only if the Wee Man isn’t coming along to peer into the toilet bowl and watch what’s going on!). Sometimes, when inspiration hits, especially with the baby brain I’ve got going on, you just have to start getting it all down, whatever you’re up to.

I’ve only lost my blogging mojo once throughout the process, and luckily managed to find it again fairly quickly. Although I have at times felt it’s all a bit crazy, I think it’s good timing for me in a blogging sense that I’ve only just become a Mum again as its given me a whole heap of things to write about.

I’ve enjoyed doing it, I’ve enjoyed finding new twitterers and reading new blogs, and I’m glad that I’ve managed to get a lot of Bubby D’s early days out there so that one day, she can look back on them for herself.

BUT it’s definitely been a challenge, and I must admit that I’m breathing a big sigh of relief that I can get back to a more normal haphazard as and when the need strikes kind of writing – and I think the Other Half, the Wee Man and Bubby D might appreciate seeing me without a screen big or small in front of my face for a bit too!

Hurrah for everyone who’s made it 😀

Now to go and give my fingers a rest!
