I’ve no idea

Earlier today I had a good idea of what to write. But as is the case of many a musing in my mind, by the time I got home, picked up the Wee Man from pre-school, got him to eat dinner, got him to nap, fed Bubby D and then finally got the chance to sit down for a minute, the interesting idea had vanished from my mind.

I really should get one of those dictaphone things. Actually I think my phone works as a dictaphone. If I used it in that way I’d probably then lose it though, or accidentally erase it. I’m not being pessimistic, its just the way of things. My amazing idea was obviously not destined to make it into the world of black and white type.

Arguably, I’ll probably remember it at 2am tomorrow morning, when I blearily reach over to move a quietly squalling Bubby D from her crib to the bed, too fuzzy headed to make note and then by (proper) morning it’ll be forgotten again. Most likely, I’ll think of another interesting idea, and that may well go the same way as today’s idea too. Somewhere off in space there is a little container of my ideas, floating around gently bumping into each other, some giggling, some squeaking, and some grunting angrily as they were just trying to get a bit of rest. Perhaps this little bottles of imaginings will at some point meet the potentially cast off ‘leap second’ – something which the scientific community are considering eradicating from existence apparently. (I didn’t even know it existed in the first place until I read that it may now cease to exist!). Basically its a second that is added to our time every so often, as the earth is a bit wobbly and doesn’t stick strictly to its alloted timescales. As I understand it. That actually sounds a bit like me when I was at school. I don’t imagine that leap seconds look like scruffy blue-bedecked penguin like people though (my school uniform was crap…), I see them more as being little green creatures with big googly eyes that crease somewhat sadly at the corners, with faintly pink cheeks and a glimmer of a smile every now and then when they bump into a sprinkle of stardust. Totally unscientific and quite possibly ridiculous.

But that’s what you get when you lose your ideas, a post about what the idea might have been but definitely wasn’t.
