Community spirit – Debden Day

Bouncy castles are incredibly exciting. I loved them when I was young (and older too – I had one for my 21st birthday!) and the Wee Man and Bubby D are equally eager to get on and get bouncing whenever they find one.

Luckily for them, the annual Debden Day arrived again today and was full of bouncy castles and slides, miniature rides, and a horse and cart – as well as lots of fun family entertainment and local information.

The theme this year was superheroes and Bubby D wore her favourite Supergirl t-shirt from H&M. The Wee Man wore a Batman top but absolutely refused to consider putting on his Bat Cape – he insists that since Batman can’t fly there is no point in him having a cape. I did point out the gliding abilities of wings – but apparently you don’t need to be able to glide much either to go on bouncy things so the refusal stood.

They’ve been practicing for weeks and – I am sure – like many parents we have been treated to endless renditions of ‘Let It Gooooooooo’; it was nice to see it in the final finished version!
